  • 2020-2021: Travel and public appearances suspended due to the pandemic, the foundation continued to research and collect photos, letters, and memorabilia related to the family branches for the archives.​​

  • 2019: Visited the training grounds of the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, in Leadville, Colorado. During WWII, two von Trapp sons volunteered to join the first US Military division dedicated to mountain warfare.

  • 2018: Presented at the European Maritime Heritage Conference in Portsmouth, England, on the history of the torpedo. Presented at the 8th International Conference on Industrial Heritage in Rijeka, Croatia on Robert Whitehead's invention of the torpedo. Met with the Major of Rijeka to share about the family's history in the Adriatic. Read more.

  • 2017: Contributed art and historical background information on Hede von Trapp, Georg's sister, for a retrospective Art Exhibition at the Museumsverein Korneuburg, in Korneuburg-Vienna, Austria.
    ​Wrote a forward to the Hungarian translation of Captain Georg von Trapp's WWI memoir "To The Last Salute".

  • 2016: Attended and spoke in Rijeka, Croatia at the 7th International Conference on Industrial Heritage hosted by PRO TORPEDO Rijeka--honoring the 150th anniversary of the invention of the torpedo by Robert Whitehead. Johanna II von Trapp spoke to the family's history, the meaning and significance of the event, including that Robert's intent behind his invention had been a wish for peace. Later in the year, a research trip to the UK included a visit to the Paddockhurst Estate (prior Robert Whitehead residence, now Worth School).

  • 2015: The Georg & Agathe Foundation  was founded as a Dutch non-profit and also launched vonTrapp.org.

2025 - Our 10-Year Anniversary

  • 2024: Special movie event at the Filmhuis Den Haag  featuring a pre-screening Q&A and showing of The Sound of Music​Also, research trip to Hungary for extended matrilineal line including Széchenyi, Festetics de Tolna, and Rákóczy.

  • 2023: Visited Washington DC's Smithsonian Museum archives to research the Trapp Family Singers  and review Oscar Hammerstein's papers that were gifted to the archive. Additionally, spent time in Croatia researching the extended family history including Frangepán/ Frankopan, Zrínyi/Zrinski, Whitehead, and von Trapp.

  • 2022: Invited to speak at the book launches for the Croatian translation of Captain Georg von Trapp's WWI memoir "To The Last Salute". Wrote a forward to the book and spoke at the Maritime and History Museum in Rijeka and at the Villa Trapp in Pula. Read more

  

  • Vienna: Featured panelists, hosted by the Austrian-American Society, for the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of The Sound of Music. Moderated by Hannes M. Schalle, with fellow panelist René Tritscher of the Austrian Business Agency and Wolf Osthaus of Netflix, we discussed past, current, and future topics, challenges and opportunities within the movie business and the film industry.   • Vienna: Guests of the Navy Association of Vienna (Marineverband-Wien) and Austro-Hungarian Navy Archive (k.u.k. Kriegsmarine Archiv) honoring the heritage of the Austrian-Hungarian Navy. Read more.

  • Salzburg: Invited guest by the Salzburg Museum for the launch of a temporary exhibition for the 60th anniversary of The Sound of Music at Leopoldskron Castle, where some scenes in the movie were filmed.

  • The Hague: Invited for Q&A and attended the American School of The Hague's production of The Sound of Music.​
